About Beans and Greens Buffet and Catering
Beans and Greens is nestled on a rural road in the Ball Play community of Etowah County, just 15 miles from downtown Gadsden. Bobby Boles, along with his wife Kelly, proudly own this hidden gem where you won’t simply stumble upon it, but rather arrive with a purpose – to savor a delicious meal.
Plenty of hungry people from north and central Alabama and northwest Georgia regularly travel to the weathered wood building with the rustic pine interior at Beans and Greens Buffet and Catering, ready to line up at the buffet. Boles mentions that visitors come from Rome and Cedartown (Ga.), Fort Payne, Rainsville, Birmingham, Boaz, Albertville, Anniston, Oxford, Jacksonville, Piedmont, and Cherokee County.
Established in 1999, Beans and Greens saw new ownership in July 2002 when Boles took over the reins after a recommendation from the previous owner. A decade later, the restaurant continues to thrive, serving delicious meals daily from Wednesday to Sunday.
Beans and Greens Buffet and Catering has been actively catering for the past six or seven years, serving at church events, school events, weddings, and various other occasions in Gadsden. The heart of the restaurant is its buffet, offering 14 to 18 classic dishes reminiscent of home-cooked meals. Alongside the buffet, patrons enjoy a salad bar featuring cole slaw and potato salad, attracting diners even during special menu offerings like rib-eye steaks for Valentine’s Day. The scratch-made chicken fingers are a crowd favorite, prepared by hand and deep-fried to perfection, while the homemade banana pudding follows suit with a traditional, from-scratch recipe, reflecting the dedication to quality at Beans and Greens.
